- Teams and drivers
- Eleven teams and 22 drivers, with Cadillac now on the grid as the eleventh constructor.
- Calendar
- Twenty-four rounds expected, opening in Bahrain and closing in Abu Dhabi. The calendar firms up late in the preceding year, so build your pool around rounds rather than dates.
- Race weekend
- Practice, qualifying, race. On sprint weekends there is a second qualifying session and a sprint race, each producing a separate result that can be predicted on its own.
- Championship points
- 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1 to the top ten. Sprint races pay the top eight on a shorter scale. No point for fastest lap.
- Two championships at once
- Drivers and constructors run in parallel off the same results, which gives you two season-long predictions from one calendar.
- Regulations
- The 2026 rule set carries into 2027. Active aerodynamics in place of DRS, a manual override power boost, and fully sustainable fuel.
- Race times from Canada
- European races start around breakfast on a Sunday in the east and in the early morning in the west. Races in Asia and the Middle East run overnight, and most of the rounds in the Americas land in the afternoon.
- Attrition
- Retirements are part of the sport rather than an exception. A first-lap incident can remove three podium contenders before anyone's prediction has had a chance to be right.
