Tennis bracket pools

A tennis draw is already a bracket, so there is nothing to convert.

One hundred and twenty-eight players, 127 matches, seven rounds and a single winner. Your players fill in the draw before the first ball and watch it survive the first Tuesday. Run the US Open or any Grand Slam as a bracket challenge, in your branding.

US Open 2027

US Open bracket challenge.

The main draw runs from Sunday, August 29 to Sunday, September 12, 2027 in New York, with qualifying the week before. It plays on Eastern time, so most of the country watches it live. Run a US Open bracket for your club, office or customers under your own logo and colours.

Two draws, two brackets.

The men's and women's singles each have 128 players and seven rounds. Run either or both as separate brackets with their own leaderboards, and ask for each when you set up.

Ask once the draw is complete.

Qualifying fills 16 places in each draw, which read Qualifier until the names are known. Our team builds the bracket from the published draw, so ask for it once every slot has a name and lock it before the first ball on August 29.

We record every result.

Our team records who advances as each match finishes and every bracket is rescored. You never enter a score. A correct pick is worth its round number, 1 to 7, with 10 more for the right champion, so a perfect 128 bracket scores 257.

Set up in August.

Set up your hub, your invite link and your lock time before the long weekend, so invitations go out the moment the draw is published.

The four majors, and the draw underneath them.

Main draw dates, 2027
Australian Open January 17 to 31. Roland-Garros May 23 to June 6. Wimbledon June 28 to July 11. US Open August 29 to September 12.
Size of a draw
128 players in every Grand Slam singles draw: 127 matches, seven rounds, no byes. Men's and women's are separate draws.
Seeds
32 seeded players, placed so that no two can meet before the third round.
Qualifiers
16 of the 128 come through qualifying the week before. Until it finishes, those slots on the published draw read Qualifier.
Match length
Men play best of five sets at the majors and women best of three.
On a Canadian clock
The US Open plays on Eastern time. Wimbledon and Roland-Garros start their days before breakfast in Toronto and in the middle of the night in Vancouver, and the Australian Open runs overnight for the whole country.
Retirements and walkovers
A player who retires has lost. A walkover means the match was never played. Either way one name moves into the next round.

What one draw looks like as a pool.

  1. The draw is published, and our team builds your bracket.

Once the draw is out and every slot has a name, Fanzava's team builds the whole tree from it: the seeds and all 127 matches, in draw order. Nobody on your side types in a schedule.

  2. Everyone fills it in before the first ball.

Pick every winner from round one to the final. Entries lock at the time you set, typically just before the first match. Nobody sees anyone else's picks until then.

  3. We record the result and it scores, round by round.

Fanzava's team records each match as it finishes and every pick that touched it settles. The leaderboard reorders as results go in, so a Wimbledon upset that happened before your players woke up is already on the board.

The scoring decisions a tennis draw forces on you.

A 128-player bracket is 64 matches in round one and one in the final. Every scoring argument comes out of that ratio.

Flat scoring makes round one the whole pool.

One point a pick puts 64 points on the first round and one on the final. Fanzava weights the rounds instead: one point times the round number, so a correct pick is worth 1 in round one and 7 in the final, plus 10 for the champion. The weighting is the same for every bracket.

Seeds hold serve, so early exits separate the field.

The 32 seeds are drawn apart so the first two rounds are mostly favourites winning. What separates brackets is the seed who goes out in round two. Fanzava pays no upset bonus, because points follow the round, not the seed.

Sixteen names are missing when the draw comes out.

The published sheet carries Qualifier in 16 of the 128 slots. A bracket is built from a complete draw, so ask for it once qualifying has resolved.

Best of five and best of three are different pools.

Five sets give the better player time to recover, so men's draws run closer to seeding. A shorter match leaves more room for an upset, which is why women's draws and tour events, the National Bank Open included, are more volatile.

One draw is one pool.

A season-long pick'em asks someone to return every week. A tennis bracket asks once, holds them for a fortnight and finishes, four times a year.

Ways to run a draw.

Full draw bracket

All 127 matches picked before the first ball, scored with round weighting. The complete version, and the one that starts the longest arguments.

Last sixteen

Skip the first week and start a 16-player bracket at the fourth round: 15 matches, four rounds and one weekend of attention. Our team builds it from the round of 16 draw.

Why run your tennis pool on Fanzava.

The bracket engine already runs.

A draw is a knockout tree, and knockout trees are what the engine runs. Picks lock together, every bracket rescores as each result is recorded, and the leaderboard follows.

Our team builds the draw and records the results.

We build each draw from the published sheet and record each result as it lands. You never enter a score.

Your logo, your colours, your domain.

Paid plans and a Bracket Pass ship full white label. Pro and above add a custom domain and a custom email sender.

A fortnight is a complete product.

Each major opens, runs and closes on its own, which suits a sponsor activation, a members' pool or a single office far better than a season.

Questions tennis pool organizers ask.

When is the US Open bracket challenge?
The 2027 main draw runs from Sunday, August 29 to Sunday, September 12. Ask for your bracket once qualifying, the week before, has filled the draw, and lock it before the first ball. You can set up your hub earlier in August.
Is this the official US Open bracket challenge?
No. The official draw and results are on usopen.org, linked at the top of this page. Fanzava runs a challenge your own people enter, under your brand.
How do you stop the first round deciding everything?
Fanzava weights the rounds: one point times the round number, so 1 in round one and 7 in the final, with 10 more for the champion. There is no upset bonus.
What happens to the 16 qualifier slots?
They read Qualifier on the published draw until qualifying finishes. A bracket is built from a complete draw, so our team builds it once every slot has a name.
Who enters the results?
Our team builds the bracket from the published draw and records each result, retirements and walkovers included. You do not enter anything.
Can I print a tennis bracket?
Yes. The free bracket maker prints a clean blank bracket for up to 128 names, for the office wall or the clubhouse.
What does it cost?
Brackets are not on the Free plan. Run one on Starter or above, or buy a one-off Bracket Pass for the event. The prices are in the Bracket Pass panel on this page.
Does money change hands?
No. Entry is free and Fanzava never handles entry money. It is a free social game where people make predictions and a leaderboard ranks them.
