The 16 teams are known when the regular season ends on April 10, 2027. Our team builds the bracket from the published matchups, seeds and all, so your people see the real first-round series.
One lock time covers the whole bracket. Set it before puck drop of the first game. Reminders go out before lock, nobody sees anyone else's picks until then, and auto-fill can start from the higher seeds or at random.
A series is up to seven games between the same two teams, so our team records the winner once it is decided. The winner moves on and every bracket is rescored.
Each person's best bracket ranks on the leaderboard. Groups let a department, an office or a hockey pool of friends run their own standings inside your challenge.
The divisional bracket is the feature that sets this apart from the NBA. A wrong call in the first round can take out a whole path.
There is no reseeding, so each division's route is set once the first round is, and winners meet inside the division until the conference final. Every pick feeds the next: a wrong first-round pick also breaks the second-round pick that depended on it, which is how one bad series costs several points.
Fanzava scores one point times the round number, so a first-round pick is worth 1 and the Final pick is worth 4, with 10 more for the champion. It is the same for every bracket and is not set per competition.
The two wild cards in each conference are the lowest seeds, and the first round pairs them with the division winners. Backing one is the classic upset pick. There is no upset bonus, so it is worth one point, like any other first-round series.
A longer series gives the better team more chances to recover than a single game does. The pick is the team that wins the series, not the number of games.
One per person is the default. You can allow up to five and the best bracket is the one that counts. Ask for the limit before it opens so everyone starts equal.
The playoffs run from April into June, long enough to hold an office and short enough to finish. There is nothing to maintain between series.
If you already run an NHL pick'em pool across the regular season, the bracket is a separate competition in the same hub, with its own leaderboard and the same people.
