March Madness bracket pool

Run the office bracket pool without running the spreadsheet.

Your logo, your colours, your leaderboard. Our team builds the bracket, seeds and all, from the Opening Round to the title game, and records every result, so every score updates on its own and the commissioner gets to watch the basketball like everyone else in the office.

Free to start. No credit card.

How a bracket pool runs on Fanzava.

  1. Build the hub before Selection Sunday.

Upload your logo, set your colours, name the pool and open the invite link. Your people join by link, QR code or bulk upload. Nothing about the experience says Fanzava, because everything about it says you.

  2. Everyone fills out a bracket.

Players pick every game from the round of 64 through to the championship. Reminders go out 24 hours and one hour before lock. Anyone who leaves games blank scores zero on those games, which is usually enough to make them finish.

  3. Every bracket locks at the same moment.

At the lock time you set, normally the first tip of Thursday, every bracket freezes together. No late entries, no exceptions, no arguments. Once locked, brackets become visible to the whole pool and pick distribution shows how the field split on each matchup.

  4. The tournament scores itself.

Fanzava records each result and picks score automatically. Leaderboards move as each game goes in, all the way through a Thursday that has 16 games on it. You never touch a formula and you never enter a result.

  5. The pool starts talking.

Groups let floors, departments or offices run their own standings inside the one pool and see how they rank against each other. The Banter Board gives the person whose 12 seed just won somewhere to say so.

The three arguments every bracket pool has.

Settle these before the invite goes out. Every one of them surfaces on the first Thursday otherwise.

Whether the Opening Round counts.

Twelve games get played on the Tuesday and Wednesday, before most people have opened their bracket. Most pools score only the 63 games of the main bracket and treat the Opening Round as a play-in the field never picks. Whichever way you go, put it in the rules, because someone will ask on the Tuesday night.

How much the back end of the bracket is worth.

Linear scoring pays one point in the first round, two in the second, and so on, which keeps the first Thursday meaningful. Exponential scoring doubles every round, which means the title game can swing the whole pool and a blown Final Four ends you. Fanzava scores linearly, one point times the round number, with ten more for the correct champion. The weighting is the same for every pool.

Whether upsets pay extra.

The classic house rule pays a bonus for correctly picking a lower seed over a higher one, usually the difference between the two seed numbers. It rewards the people who actually watched conference tournaments instead of picking chalk. Fanzava does not pay a seed-difference bonus: points follow the round, not the seed.

How many brackets each person gets.

One per player is the default and it keeps the pool honest. Allow up to five if you would rather people experiment with different risk profiles. Each player's best-scoring bracket is the one that counts on the leaderboard.

Who can see what, and when.

Nobody sees how the field has picked until lock, so there is nothing to copy from the person who reads the bracketology columns. It works the same way in every pool.

Why the commissioner gets their March back.

Scoring is not your Thursday.

Sixteen games tip between noon and midnight Eastern on the first day, and later again on the West Coast. A spreadsheet pool means someone is re-entering results all afternoon and fielding messages about why the standings are wrong. Here Fanzava records each result and the leaderboard is already right, with no formula to re-check and nothing for you to enter.

Chasing entries is not your Wednesday.

Automatic reminders at 24 hours and one hour before lock do the nagging. The people who always file at the last minute still file at the last minute, they just do it without you asking twice.

It looks like your organization.

Paid plans ship full white-label: your logo, your colours and your brand across every screen, every email and every notification. Pro and Enterprise add a custom domain and a custom email sender, so the pool lives at your address and the emails come from you.

Groups turn one pool into a rivalry.

Split the field by office, department, province or family. Each group gets its own leaderboard and its own standing against every other group. A 300-person bracket pool is a list. Twelve groups of 25 is a competition.

Questions bracket pool organizers ask.

Can I run this as a company office pool?
Yes, and it is the most common way it gets used, in Canadian offices as much as American ones. Players join by invite link, QR code or bulk upload, so there is no IT ticket and no account provisioning. Larger organizations on Enterprise can add SSO through SAML or OIDC and run the pool against the identity provider they already have.
Does Fanzava handle the expansion to 76 teams?
Fanzava's team builds the bracket from the tournament's own draw, seeds included, with the Opening Round run as play-in games that are settled before the lock. The shape of the field is not something you maintain, results are recorded for you and the bracket advances itself.
What happens to brackets that are not finished before lock?
They lock as they are, and every unpicked game scores zero. Partial brackets stay in the pool rather than being thrown out, which matters when someone fills out three regions and forgets the fourth.
Can people see each other's brackets?
Not before lock, so nobody can copy the person who has been watching. After lock, brackets become visible to the whole pool and pick distribution percentages show how the field split on every matchup, which is where most of the conversation comes from.
How many people can join?
Brackets are not on the Free plan. Starter covers up to 100 players, Growth 250, Pro 500 and Scale 1,000, and a one-off Bracket Pass comes in the same four bands. Enterprise has no player limit.
Is this a betting product?
No. Fanzava is a fan and workplace engagement platform. There are no odds, no spreads and no wagering anywhere in it. People make picks, the leaderboard sorts them, and the argument sorts itself out.
