Fun ways to decide the order.

A random draw is the fairest, but it is not the only way to start a draft night. Some leagues make the order part of the evening.

  • The live draw. Share your screen, press the button once and let the reveal run. Last pick first builds the tension, and nobody can say it was fixed.
  • Names from a hat. Old school, and it works in a room. Pull them out one at a time, last pick first.
  • Dice. Everyone rolls two dice, highest total picks first, and ties roll again. It gets loud, which is the point.
  • Last season in reverse. The lowest finisher picks first. It keeps the bottom of the ladder interested, though it means a new league has nothing to go on.
  • A bracket for the top picks. Put the managers in a knockout and let the winners choose their position. The bracket maker sets one up in a minute.
  • Trivia. Ask footy questions, with one point a question, and the best score picks first. Fix the questions before anyone arrives.
  • Pick a slot, then draw. Draw the order, then let managers swap slots by agreement before the draft starts. Whatever you decide, say it before the draw.
  • The commissioner picks last. A small courtesy that earns trust in a new league.

Enter, draw, share.

  1. Enter your managers.

One name per line, up to 32. Add a league name if you want it on the printout.

  2. Pick the style.

Snake or third-round reversal, and how many rounds to preview. The board follows your choice.

  3. Draw it with everyone watching.

The order is revealed from the last pick to the first. Then copy the text or the link, so the group chat sees the same result.

Run the whole league on Fanzava.

A Fanzava fantasy league will run on your own hub, under your logo, colours and domain. Members will draft in a live snake draft room with a chat beside the board, then name captains, trade and pick up free agents through the season. It is not open yet: join the waitlist and be first in.

We'll be in touch about fantasy on your hub.

Draft order questions.

How is the order drawn?
Your browser asks the operating system for secure random numbers (crypto.getRandomValues) and feeds them into a Fisher-Yates shuffle. Values that would favour the low numbers are thrown away and drawn again, so every possible order of your managers is equally likely. Nothing about the order is decided before you press the button.
How does a snake draft work?
The pick order reverses every round. Whoever picks first in round one picks last in round two, and picks first again in round three. It stops the first pick of a round being a permanent advantage over the last. The board under the draw shows every round, so you can see exactly where each manager picks.
What is third-round reversal?
It is a snake with one change: round three runs in the same direction as round two, then the snake carries on. The manager at the end of round one picks first in rounds two and three, and the manager who picked first in round one waits for round four. Leagues use it to take some of the weight off the first pick. It is a house rule, so agree it before the draw.
How many rounds should I preview?
One round for every place in a squad. If your squads have fifteen places, preview fifteen rounds. The preview only shows the board; it does not need to match anything in a draft room.
Is the list private?
Yes. The draw runs in your browser. The names you type are never uploaded, and closing the tab clears them. The share link carries the drawn order in the part of the address after the hash, which your browser does not send to us.
Can I hold the draft here?
No. This sets the order and shows the board. The picks happen wherever you run your draft. If you want the draft, the squads and the season in one place under your own brand, that is a Fanzava fantasy league. It is not open yet, and there is a waitlist.
